May 5, 2009 was “Uniform Night” at Union Lodge #3 in McMinnville. While 8 Brethren attempted to fit into their present or prior Uniform, it was agreed that, overall, the best fit was the handkerchief.
Those honored included a wide variety of services including U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Civil Servants from multiple Fire Districts, Local, County, State and Federal Agencies, Educators, College ROTC, National Guard, and, our Senior Warden who is presently serving on Grand Jury Duty.
The range of Date of Service represented was from WWII to the present. One of our members, WB James Martin, was recently honored and inducted into the Oregon Military Hall Fame. WB James is a survivor of The Death March of Bataan as a POW.
WB Dick Magers (20 years with U.S. Army, 8 years U.S. Air Force, and many years with the McMinnville Volunteer Fire Dept.) presented a brief program. Each Brother was invited to share their Service History.
Congratulations to all, and Thank You for your Service!
